GRAPHIC DESIGN

I am experienced with designing different forms of graphic designs through my experience working in communications jobs. The below presents various examples of my graphic design abilities.

Their designs represent examples of communicating content to our educational settings, internal updates, or one of our healthcare organisations, the University Hospital Southampton (UHS).

This is an example of a poster designed for engagement settings. The purpose of this poster would be to remind students of the need to keep on testing for COVID-99 as they returned back from school. Features of this poster included:

  • Used fonts and formats in the text that would also be friendly to SEND settings, to ensure that the poster was inclusive of all audiences.

  • Clear understanding of the two key brand colours - Blue to represent the NHS, and Pink to represent our program.

  • Coordinated with the programme's engagement team on the production of this poster.

New Year Saliva Testing Poster.png

This is a example of a poster designed for the purpose of communicating an internal update within the programme. At this time,  this was the implications of the announcement of England moving to a 'Plan B' strategy around COVID-19. The purpose of the poster would be to ensure that staff from the lab would be aware that they would need to work from home instead where possible. The main achivements of this poster were as follows:

  • Could be used both physically and digitally, in order to reach individuals across multiple channels.

  • Coordinated with the programme's HR team on the production of this poster.

Plan B Update.png

This is a poster that could be used to summarise the key benefits of saliva testing, in a form that is aesthetically pleasing and easy to summarise.

  • A design format which easily allows us to explain our USPs.

  • The numbered nature of the poster arrow means there is a 'customer journey' happening within this poster - they follow each number until they get to the end arrow, to go to the website.

  • Visual imagery was correctly implemented to represent the copy being discussed in the poster, to add more context and further the reader's understanding of the poster.

A4 Poster - why test with us with without print marks-1.png

This is a screensaver that was produced, which could be installed onto UHS laptops and played in a repeating cycle. The screensaver is one that would be seen by the large majority of staff, as most staff worked from home at the time, and as such it would be a good avenue to reach the audience to display a message.

  • Demonstrated a clear separate branding with font, colorography and imagery, to separate our screensaver from normal UHS advertising.

This is a example of a 'Factsheet' that was designed for staff at healthcare settings, in this case being for staff at UHS. The purposes of this factsheet would involve informing audiences of the basic details of saliva testing, and then how to register if they were interested. It was always important for us to always give audience members the sufficient amount of information they needed to make their own informed decision about whether they would part part in saliva testing with us. The key design featured demonstrated by these factsheets include:

  • An understanding of what key questions consumers would have about our service, and answers to those questions.

  • Was created in a format that could be easily replicated across numerous kinds of NHS orgnaisations, to ensure that it can be adaptable to different trust needs.

  • Visual imagery is used to assist with bridging any hurdles of understanding the product and its uses which readers may have.

This is a example of one of the pieces of merchandise we designed for engagement events, being a business card. With this piece of merchandise, we would be able to reach individuals who would only be able to quickly pass through at the time of engaging with them. With the business card however, they could come back to finding out all they need to know about our programme at a time that conveniences them better. Key design features of these business cards included:

  • Formatted in a specific 3.5" x 2.5" size.

  • Featured wording from our website, to ensure brand consistency.

  • Implementation of a digital design feature of a QR code linking to our website, for the consumers' convenience.

  • Would condense only the most vital of information that the audience would need.
