My name is Tom Steckler. I am 25 years old, and live in Southampton. I have completed a BSC (Hons) degree in Broadcast Television and Media Production in 2019 alongside an MA in Digital Marketing and Analytics, both at the University of Winchester.

 

The experience I have gained throughout my two degrees and previous positions have enabled me to become an effective multi-skilled practitioner within communications, marketing, social media and content production.

 

Within video content production, these include diverse productions, including animations, broadcast, corporate videos, documentaries, film production, live events, music videos and social media videos.

Within photographic content production, these include set photography, photo-journalism, theatre photography, travel photography, wedding photography, animal photography, vehicle photography and corporate photography.

 

Within marketing, these include experience of Search Engine Optimisation, eCommerce, Web Design, Social Media, Brand Guidelines, Email Marketing, Flyers and Banners, and a familiarity with concepts like Keywords, Responsive Design, S.W.O.T Analysis, Website Wireframes and Unique Selling Propositions.

Within communications, these include acting as the central point for handling website enquiries and requests for day-to-day updates, maintaining high standards of accessibility and usability on digital channels, working with a content management system through a SharePoint intranet, office management support, preparing meeting notes and agendas, emails, obtaining quotes for the production of new materials, and demonstrating communication skills on a general basis.

Within social media, these include utilising a social media marketing and managing tool in the form of Hootsuite, being able to create and schedule social media posts , creating suitable visual content to be used onfor posts, resharing relevant posts from associated social media accounts both upon own initiative and when requested to by colleagues, acting as cover for whenever the social media lead would be on leave, issuing out press releases and monitoring the flow of tags for an account on social media. 

 

The clients I have worked with include - but are not limited to - sports clubs such as Eastleigh Rugby and Football Club, public attractions such as Winchester Science Centre, charities such as the British Beekeeper’s Association, and businesses like IPA Cleaning and Hygiene Ltd, Fleet UK and the University Hospital Southampton.

 

I give 100 % commitment to each project, and alongside my general nature of being friendly and approachable, and the experiences that I have gained from my years of volunteering, work and endeavors across communications, content production and marketing. These included experiences such as National Citizen Service, amateur dramatics, the work place and residential weeks with the British Film Industry, have all helped me to become an individual who is not afraid to take risks, place myself in different situations and be as hardworking as possible.

 

I am an individual who has become an intelligent, bright young man, with a philosophy of seizing life as it comes along and to enjoying it. In my spare time I play football. I support Southampton FC in football, and Buffalo Bills in the NFL. I love going to the cinema and spending time with my friends and family, and my cat. I am a CD collector, collecting CDs based on my favourite albums. I have subscribed to a service called ‘Cinema Paradiso’, which sends me discs each week of films of my choosing, including the latest releases.
